I’m back! Honestly, it feels a bit like stepping out of a time machine. My absence from the keyboard has been long enough that my old blog website, with all its articles and musings, seems to have vanished into the digital ether. A true sign of how much time has passed! But, the WayBackMachine service to the rescue, will upload all my old articles, no matter how old and archaic they seem.
But even after all this time, one of my last posts sticks vividly in my mind: a review of Microsoft Office 2016 and its then-revolutionary Click-to-Run setup. For those unfamiliar, Click-to-Run was Microsoft’s clever streaming and virtualization method for installing and updating software. It was a game-changer, allowing you to start using Office applications even before the entire suite had finished downloading.
And let me tell you, back in 2016 with my not-so-blazing-fast internet connection, that was pure magic. The ability to jump into Word or Excel while the rest of the bits streamed in the background felt like a glimpse into the future.
Fast forward to today, and 2016 truly feels like a different era in tech. It’s been an absolute whirlwind. So much has happened, so many innovations have emerged, that simply listing them all would take years. Technology isn’t just evolving; it’s practically becoming an extension of our lives, woven into the very fabric of our daily routines.
And that, my friends, is why I’m so excited to be back. The world has changed, and I can’t wait to dive into it with you.
What’s Next?
Well, I’ll be writing more often. I will try to write more often aiming for an article per fortnight initially and gradually moving that to two articles per week.
What tech trends from the past few years have blown your mind the most? Share your thoughts in the comments!
